Just about the best band t-shirt i have ever seen

Grizzly Bear - Cat Tee

More music you should be listening to

Vivian Girls - self titled.

Pocahaunted - Island Diamonds

While we’re waiting for the new Grizzly Bear, this is well worth a listen:

Of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

“ I’m a motherfucking headliner bitch, you don’t even know it ”

Crikey, Kevin Barnes is getting rather big for his boots. Plus, that album cover is hideous. Really, unbelievably ugly.

Still, I love Of Montreal.

Another wonderfully poppy, delightful album.

Work hard & be nice to people

3rd. edition, finally, I got one.

Salad of the week: Tuna nicoise

This recipe is for Claire. It’s so tasy, I think we’ve eaten it at least four times in the past fortnight.

It’s probably not Tuna Nicoise salad at all, it’s closer to a version of this warm potato and tuna salad with eggs, capers and anything else you fancy.

Ingredients:

  • Half a bag of salad - I like Florette’s Crunchy salad.
  • A tin of tuna
  • Half a cucumber
  • Cherry tomatoes, or tomberries
  • New potatoes, or salad potatoes (5 or six)
  • Three eggs
  • French beans
  • Capers
  • Chopped olives with garlic

For the dressing:

  • Cider vinegar
  • Pesto
  • Sunflower or groundnut oil

Method:

Add salad and all other chopped ingredients to bowl.

Flake a tin of tuna on top of the salad.

Cook 3 hard boiled eggs, chop up and add to the bowl.

Cook the potatoes in boiling water for just over 10 minutes.

Add the beans for the last 3 minutes.

Drain the potatoes and beans, rinse with cold water, then pop in with the salad.

Add the dressing.

This is really good served with pitta chips and avocado hummous.

Autumn/Winter 2008

It’s autumn. Now that’s settled, here’s a couple of my favourites from Autumn/Winter 2008.

  1. A.P.C cocktail dress
  2. Acne Beryl cardigan

I need to take more photographs

I taken any photographs in the past two weeks. Until I get my next roll developed - here’s a favourite of mine, that’s Phil Elverum (Mt. Eerie), playing at Cafe Oto in Dalston.

A bout de souffle

The Criterion Collection is wonderful. Thanks to Michael, I now have Breathless in my own collection. It’s so lovely, it makes me want to start buying DVDs again. After watching Breathless, I’ll be steadily working my way through the French New Wave selection.

Grouper - Dragging a dead deer up a hill

Best album this year so far.

I can’t stop listening to this. Liz Harris’ voice is beautiful.

Buy it from Boomkat.
